# Who are delegates

[Delegates](https://www.tally.xyz/gov/rari-foundation/delegates) are the respected community members entrusted by other $RARI holders to make decisions on important topics on their behalf. 

Delegates are expected to:

* Contribute meaningfully to discussion, help shape proposals and engage with the community
* Have a voice and defined opinion on important topics, while substantiating their decisions and positions and being transparent with the community
* Participate in discussions and talking to the community members in the RARI Foundation forum, Discord and Twitter

Participation in bi-weekly community calls and proposal review calls is not mandatory but is highly encouraged.

Delegate is not just a status you can claim: it requires knowledge of the industry, time and effort. In return, you'll:

* Become an influential decision maker in the RARI Chain and Rarible Protocol ecosystem 
* Have an active role in proposals decision making and shaping the future of the DAO and of the Protocol
